Getting Thermal for free in 2026 is easier than the crack forums make it look — and safer. Legal route: PluginGrab's page.
The trial
Output publishes a full-feature trial of Thermal. Typical window: 15 days. Save/reload of Thermal state inside your project keeps working after trial expiry.
Install steps

- Run installer — default VST3 path is correct for modern DAWs
- Rescan plugins in your DAW
- Load Thermal on a channel and start playing
Why not the cracks
The current wave of cracked distortion plugins sites ships with crypto-miners and telemetry. Producers waste days debugging phantom CPU spikes only to find a compromised licence routine. The trial is a better path in every dimension.
